Searcher

A hot Seattle day turned into cool, misty night
I look for the wanted
Searcher of clues through the city streets
Coffee and talk radio
Waiting for the night's foe
I search
Payday in sight
We all choose a path
Sometimes right
Felt my share of wrong too
Life's wrath for the common
Sharper than a serpent's tooth
I search
Morning sun rises
Tattered
Close of day for the searcher

City Sleuth

The seedy side of town with its human zoo
I travel the city streets following leads through

the cesspool

The city often unpleasant and mean
Causing those unprepared to bleed

I get the job done, I do what it takes
The city is mine to run

Some play the wrong game
They feel the pain
Fools, no one else to blame

Clients pay me to get information
It's what I do

Memorial Day Remembrance

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have fallen during service to our country. As we commemorate the soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen we have lost, as well as the wounded, bereaved families, orphans and widows, let us not forget the meaning and traditions behind this sacred holiday.

Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day, as its purpose was to visit cemeteries and place flowers on the graves of soldiers who had died in the Civil War. In 1882, people started calling it "Memorial Day," and by the time World Wars I and II had ended, it had evolved into a day to honor all fallen military men and women, no matter what war they fought.

Norwich Summers

Thoughts of life brings feelings of carefree Norwich
summers of
good times

Special experiences that one never forgets
Fond childhood memories of the neighborhood
and friends
Days with no reason or rhyme

Pleasant thoughts of childhood past
Some feelings blue
Some memories marred

Escape to that special place called The Rock
Tom's dirt track, motorcycle trails
Those farm girls

Norwich summers forever lasting

Aldridge's Chenango Lake dock
That house, child's comfort
Chenango Lake Road and Route 23

Children's joy during unforgettable summers
in that peaceful New York State city named Norwich

Promised Land

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land."

Nearly 75 years ago, when FDR introduced Welfare, he said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land."

Today, the government has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels, and mortgaged the Promised Land!
